Overview of Baptismal Preparation Process

In preparation for the celebration of this important sacrament, Saint Frances Baptism Ministry is focused on deepening the parents understanding of the faith and providing opportunities for parents and Godparents to reflect on their relationship with God and the responsibilities they are undertaking.

Baptismal Process

1.    Materials to be read and reflected on by parents and Godparents.  These can be downloaded or upon request will be mailed to the parents.

2.    An intake meeting and conversation with a member of the Baptism Ministry Team.

3.    Participation with other parents at a Saturday morning gathering.  At this time a parish staff person and a couple with young children will provide input on your role in sharing God’s love and the faith with your child.  The Baptism Ceremony will be discussed and questions answered.

Parents are welcome to begin the Baptismal process during pregnancy to allow ample time to prepare for this Sacrament.

Baptism Liturgy

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated most Sundays at 1:30 PM.  Baptism is not celebrated during the Lenten season.  Please note that each ceremony is limited to eight families.

Parents also have the option of having a Baptism celebrated during a regular weekend Mass either Saturday evening or Sunday.  This can be arranged during your intake meeting with a parish staff member.

If you reside in the St. Frances parish community and have not already registered in the parish, you may download the parish registration form, complete it, and bring it to your intake meeting. (Insert Link)

If you have further questions contact Donna Locastro at 785 2333 ext 235 and leave your name and phone number.  Donna Locastro or a member of the Baptismal preparation team will return your call.
