The Young Vincentians is a group that was founded in November of 1996. The Young Vincentians is a Catholic youth group that is modeled after the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s spirituality and focus of helping others. Some general volunteer opportunities presented to the volunteering middle and high school student are to raise money to assist poor third world countries, food drives for local food pantries, coat drive to provide clothing to homeless and financially challenged, adopt a family Christmas Program to provide presents to financially challenged families, Senior Citizen BBQ and Christmas parties, Halloween and Luau Parties for special needs children; and other events as the spirit moves the group.
Great job by the Young Vincentians feeding a 150+ people at a soup kitchen in Hempstead. While others bicker about societal relations, the YVs took the lead and put their concern for all people into action.
