It was November 28, 2004 and a very stormy Sunday morning after the 11:30am Mass that parishioners gathered in the Parish Center to participate in the dedication of the New Parish Library.
It was three years since Fr. Bob, the Pastor, had shared with Sister Jocelyn his vision of an Adult Parish Library on the Parish grounds, and asked her to take on this ministry. Many hours were spent and many hands helped convert classroom “0” into the Adult Parish Library. |
A brief prayer service opened the dedication ceremony.
|
Fr. Greg led the prayer, and Fr. Bob and Sister Jocelyn each read from scripture. |
After Fr. Greg blessed the Library, the parishioners view the transformation that had become of classroom “O”. They now had a Parish Library. Thus far, 700 books had been catalogued, 450 Videos, and 200 tapes.
|
A picture of Fr. Bob hangs at the entrance of the Library, painted by artist Bill Devlin, and inside a tapestry of Our Blessed Mother is framed and hung.

|
At the base of the frame an engraved inscription reads –
“Thank You Father Bob.”

This photo provides a view of just two of the six glass enclosed bookcases that line this wall of the library. There are five other large four-shelf bookcases, and a large TV on a portable stand. A stationary screen is also available for Adult Faith Formation classes.
We pray that this Ministry will be both Blessed and a Blessing. |
